about

Lorne Smith recruits Jeremy Black to produce the latest effort from The Wayhighs, resulting in an evolution and tightening of the Wayhighs psychedelic rock sound. It’s a sound born in the Fells Point blues bars of Lorne’s hometown of Baltimore, and schooled in Northern California. It grew up by the beach, around the campfire, by the river, and beneath the tall trees. Inspired by a cabin in Yosemite the record is called Starr King.

Starr King is the fourth record by The Wayhighs. The songs were all written in the past year and document themes of love, trust in fate, trying to avoiding self-destruction, and dual edge of the road as a catalyst for enlightenment and a creator of weariness.

The Wayhighs live in the San Francisco Bay Area and have shared the stage with Tea Leaf Green, Stanton Moore, Scott Pemberton Trio, and Rusted Root.
